The plot is fabulous.
The script is beyond fantastic.
The cinematography is purely genius.

There is absolutely nothing that I would request for more in this film.
Everything is just perfect as it is.

Guy Ritchie being the mastermind has once again successfully combined Robert Downer Jr. and Jude Law, to star the ultimate partnership bond between Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.

This is by far a film that you must watch again and again.

There's no Day 2

Amin fell sick since last night.
He kept twisting and turning and mumbling in his sleep.
Had a 38.0 degrees temperature.
And we had to sponge him at 3am in the morning.
Which after that only he managed to fall into deep sleep.

He woke up at 8.30am.

Fed him cereal for breakfast.

Skipped the morning Muqaddam session.

And let him dozed back to sleep from 9am till 10.30am.

I offered to take him to McD for big breakfast as he woke up, but surprisingly he then asked if I can just call for delivery because he felt tired.

Now, this is definitely a sign of him being sick.

Or else, he would have jumped to the offer, pronto!

Took him to the clinic after he ate the whole Sausage McMuffin.

Doc said there were several similar cases today.

Suspected the heat was too much for these kids to handle.

Was given a medical leave for the day.

Bought some soup for lunch.

And have him sleeping again from 3pm to 6pm.

Definitely hoping for a speedy recovery.

Such a messy Day 1

Oh no.
Not Amin.
My son was indeed handsomely dressed for his first day of school, this afternoon.

It's the school's day 1 management that was utterly messy!
During the last day of school last year, the teachers announced to all that the students shall follow their current classroom.
Meaning that if the student was at Standard 1 Dahlia, he will enter Standard 2 Dahlia.
There will be no reshuffling of students yet.
I even visited the school's office last week, on the day we bought the exercise books at the school bookstore, just to confirmed on this matter.
But today, wohoooo.
Behold! Things changed in split seconds.
Or assuming the headmistress decided to changed it yesterday!

As the students gathered in the hall according to the "supposed classroom", the teacher said there will be a slight change, but they will sort it out today.
Try and imagine the crowded scene of all the students of Standard 1, Standard 2 and Standard 3 in the hall, with their respective parents attending the first day.
Standard 1 students, did not faced any problem, because the name list of students vs classroom has long been posted on the information board as guidelines for the newbies.
And of course, we would assumed if such changes to happen, then the name list of Standard 2 and Standard 3 be put up too, right?
Well, you're dead wrong, sucker !
The name lists are not on the notice board, but it is on the door of each of the classroom.
And can you guess what happened next?
Parents scattered all over the place searching for their kids name on the classroom doors.
I had to go one by one classroom, till third floor.
And demmitt that some classrooms did not even have the list on the door!
Hence we had to ask the teacher to check it out on her list at hand.
Oh why can't they just go photostat the list again and stick it up somewhere??
Is paper suddenly extinct today??
Shessshhh!
Seriously, it was an absolutely tiring day for me.
And don't get me started on the heat.

Finally got Amin to his rightful class after 45 minutes of scrambling around.
But I was upset that I couldn't get him to sit up front since all the front seat has been taken.
Well, at least we got the direct fan above.

Just another day in another year

Arif woke up at 4am shivering, with high fever.
Then, woke up again at 7am with the same thing.
Gave him the syrup, and got him to sweat an hour later.
By 10am, he's up coughing and hard to stop it.
Could be the tonsil.
It has been very hot and dry for the past few days, and I bet that must be the cause of it.

Hence, today, it will just be porridge for lunch.
Drink loads of water.
And best for us to just stay at home.

We went for detail scanning last week.
We here means I took all three boys with me, yes, counting hubby too.

Set the appoinment with Dr. Idora at Pantai Hospital.
My gynea is Prof Siti at UMSC, but I opt for Dr. Idora because UMSC charges RM280 for detail scanning, and according to my good friend, Hazrin, Dr. Idora charges RM150.

In case you didn't know, detail scanning here meaning the 2D, 3D and 4D ultrasound scan.
2D is the normal ultrasound look.
3D is this feature looking.
4D includes view of the blood flows.
Here's the sample of the 3D scan.
We couldn't get a clearer view because baby kept swimming around, kicking here and there.
Must be annoyed at the probe pressing the belly.

I was so eager to bring the boys to show them what's the "thing" inside mommy's big belly.
As they have been asking me about it for sometime.
But, Hazrin forgot to warn me about this crucial fact.
Coincidentally, there were trucks and trains and legos neatly placed at the corner of Dr. Idora's room!
Whatttttttt!
So, my boys were only able to focus for the first 90 seconds, of the entire half hour trip!
Huh, so much for the commotion!

Anyway, insyaAllah, I will be delivering a baby GIRL in this upcoming April.

Hubby is aesthetic.
He said now my mom will not bother him anymore.
He claimed that he has delivered his goals.
As my mom kept pestering for a granddaughter, for the past year.
Me on the other hand, am very grateful for this blessing.
Seriously, I don't mind the gender.
Coz from what I am experiencing right now, healthy child (and mommy, and birth), matters most!

Gosh.
It's been a while since my last blog post.

Yeah, as always, I've been busy with work.
It's definitely occupying 99.99% of my brains at this moment.
So you may think, what with all the works at this time of the year, anyways?
Well, if you have a data migration of 60,000 circuits due in February, and the new system launching scheduled in April, you will understand the hectic pace I am currently at in performing data cleansing, system performance test, and etc..
I am trying to do as much and the best I could so that my team mates will not be facing any problem later on as I go on my maternity leave, possibly a week before the system release.
How convenient is that?
I know, the chances of zero glitch are slim.. very slim..
But hey, we can dream, can't we?

Anyway, I only managed to be on leave this week, since the whole system group is also taking their break for the festive holidays.
Started the morning with a stop at Amin's school, to get the Standard 2 book list, and check on the school's bookstore to make sure of it's opening hours and books readiness.
Will go back there again tomorrow morning as both me and hubby had not enough cash with us since the bookstore only handles cash.

Then off to the dentist for my dental appointment.
It's been a year since my last visit.. how embarrassing!
And the last time, it was to dress up my wisdom tooth.
And yes, the dressing had worn out and it hurts again, badly since last weekend, that caused me to take panadol every 4 hours.
Since I am now pregnant, my dentist can't perform any tooth extraction, or root canal either as the anesthetic to be used is quite strong.
Therefore, she just re-dress the old dressing.
That should stop the pain.. for now..
Although I do have to lay low on solid foods for today and tomorrow until the gum stops swollen.. ouch.

Carousel at Pavilion KL

There's always something creative at Pavilion KL.
There was once the balloon fest.
Then there was the bubble snow last christmas.
And now, it's the carousel.

Ok, so you may ask what is the big deal about the carousel?
Well, that's precisely it.
Nothing out of the ordinary anyway.
Just a small merry-go-round.
With horses and carriage.
In the middle of the mall.

Enough to satisfy all mommies and kids.
Made us gawk with awe at the lights, the musical sounds, the pretty christmas candy-licious decor surroundings.

Creating a force strong enough to hypnotised us in spending RM5 per child for the carousel ticket.
Nothing is free anymore in this world, hunney!

Arif was scared.
But no big deal really because he was always like this on first time basis.

Amin was excited and actually ran towards the spinning cup booth.

But as usual, it was mommy who went bonkers.
Bwahahaha!

Preparation for school

I promise my best bud Izzi that I'll create this post for her, as guidelines to help her in preparing for Amirah standard 1 enrollment.
I'll try my best to cover all aspects, but kindly let me know if I might have missed out on anything.

Pre-registration : We should register our kids at most a year ago, as to which school we want to enroll them in. The school may want to see your house-bill as to check the address because priority will be given prior to home address.
Follow up enrollment : November is the month to check with the school on the registration/ enrollment/ orientation date.
Books : The list of books can be obtained from the school bookstore. My advice to call up the school beforehand and check if the list has been distributed by the ministry of education. Also check the bookstore opening hours. Buy all the exercise books listed because I find all the books to be very useful during revision time. The loan text books will be given to parents on the registration day. The workbook (buku kerja) however will not be completely used. Maybe just half of the amount - depends on the school. Hence my advice to not write your kid's class on the front of it, so that it can be carried on for the following year. Reminder to write your kids name on the top front cover of the books. Easy for teachers to distribute the books and for kids to not get them mix up with other kids' books.

Book cover : The plastic cover, now they invented it as slip cover, in the size of the text books and the workbooks. Hence, we no more need to buy the clear wrapper and cut it and cello-taped it to fit all the books perfectly. Thanks to this latest invention! Saves tons of time.

School bag : Oh boy.. I can't say much about this because I am biased. I hate the school bags with wheels. I think they are huge and will only be in the way of other children walking. I know that books are heavy and our 7 year old are such tiny tots, but really, these bags are huge and I personally think it is cumbersome. Especially when now the text books are all have been divided into modules and no longer come in thick sizes. I bought just a simple Crumpler backpack for Amin. So again, this is up to you and your kid preference (and your kid's body size too).

Uniform : Standard design. You can get it from any malls. But as for me, hubby has his most trusted shop over in Penang. The number of clothes, for Amin, we bought 5 shirts and 4 pants because kids at his age will not care as much about being clean, so, we're assuming that the shirts and pants will get dirty easily.
Socks : There are school socks made special with black soles. Buy this one! You will never be stressed over seeing dirty socks anymore.

Shoes : We bought two pairs, due to the fact that Malaysia is an equatorial country experiencing regular rains. And be prepared to buy new shoes after 5 months as the kid's feet grow sort of rapidly.
Sports attire : No need to buy extra, a pair is enough - a tee-shirt and a track bottom. This is because that they will only be having sports session once a week. Sports attire available at the school's bookstore.
Stationary : Equipped them with just this - a pencil, an eraser, a sharpener and a ruler inside a pencil case. Not more than that, because every single day, one item shall gone missing. You will get annoyed in the first place but believe me, this is common. Therefore, advisable to buy in bulk amount for all items. Saves you the numerous trip to buy the stationary when lost.
Food : We provided daily snacks for Amin. Either chicken balls, or bread with nutella spread, or mini cereal. We didn't give Amin any money for the first 4 months. This is because that I personally don't trust canteen food. And I also worried for Amin to have to fight with other big kids to rush and buy food as their break time only lasts a few minutes.

Spending money : Since Amin has daily snacks from home, therefore we only give him RM1 per day. Which at initial stage, he spend all of it at the bookstore. Either buying an eraser, a pencil, a notepad or a pack pf plasticine. Later he spend it on buying a pack of raisins, and sometimes a bottle of nutrigen drink. Don't give too much to your kid because he still doesn't know the value of money yet, and will definitely spend it, instead of saving up.
Labeling : All items must be labelled with permanent marker. Apart from for the clothes, the shoes must also be labelled. This is because that at times when they have to take off their shoes while entering the prayer rooms (when attending Islamic lesson) or the library. There is high probability of shoes get mixed up. Although labeling the stationary will not prevent it from going missing, it could however slow down the loss frequency.
Emergency kit : This specifically refers to the extra under-pants. Yes, you can never be over confident that your child will not have the bathroom accidents. This doesn't only applied to the unfortunate discharged, but also relates to the uncontrollable water hose in the loo. So, what I did was that I packed an undies inside a plastic bag, fold it up and placed it inside the slip in compartment inside the school bag. Please make it your responsibility as a parent to go to the school's toilet and test using it.
Contact number : I consider this as priority one. Very important item for every child. I wrote mine, hubby, my parents and mother in law's phone numbers onto a piece of paper, and placed the paper in a pouch together with shillings 10cents, 20cents and 50cents. This pouch stays inside the bag at all times. You must teach your child how to use the public phone or teach them how to ask for help from the teachers or school's staffs to call parents in case of emergency, like if your child feels sick and wanting to go home.

I have been craving for this, ever since hubby brought back some from Singapore early this year.

And especially now, with my unpredictable taste buds.

Had to text hubby this menu because I got confused.. haha

"Just get the caramel crisp" he text back.

As expected, without hubby around, things got out of control.. sort of..

Bought this cutesy, for immediate consumption.

Even Gya acknowledged the out-of-this-world taste.

After more than two weeks of precautions, it's follow up time to the gynea.
And great news, all placenta is now located above the baby-sac.
Hoorayyy!!

My dearest baby has helped push the placenta "tail" upwards.
Alhamdulillah.
Good baby!

But of course, still need to pray a lot because the womb is like a pool area where the baby-sac and placenta can swim around happily.. hehe..

Beautiful date, beautiful day

So many people got married on this day.
So many gorgeous children were born on this day.
So many other human being around the world set up events just so to commemorate this date.
But as for me, it was totally unplanned.

It all began last Wednesday, 9th November 2011.
It was Amin's report card day.
The day where every parents heart skipped a beat.
All in all, it was the day where excitement, meet anger, meet upset, meet happy.

As we sat in suspense in front of Miss Siti, Amin's class teacher, she placed the performance summary in front of us, and said:
"Congratulations, Amin got first in class"

I almost fell down the chair with my eyes scrambling for the class achievement remarks, and said:
"Whaaaatttttt?" (with an unbelievable tone)

Hubby turned the paper towards himself.
I bet he was as surprised, too.

Then Miss Siti took out the invitation paper, for the Achievement Award Day, dated 11th Nov 2011.

So that's how it all began.
And here we were.
At the school's hall.
I forced hubby to dress up for the big day.
And intended to put some make-up on myself.
But decided not to, in case I might end up crying of joy, and splattered the mascara all over my face.
Lipstick will suffice, then.

Amin took home two awards; first place in class and best achiever in English subject.

No doubt, I was the happiest amongst all.
The headaches, panic attack, turning the house into a war zone, now all paid off.
To be honest, I wasn't putting any expectations for him to beat the rest.
Not at all wanting to compare him with other kids.
All I wanted was for him to be smart in study and do his best for himself.

I was not an achiever during my time either.
But I managed to get good grades, constantly.
And that was enough for my parents.
Don't get me wrong, I have no intention of bragging about my son (nor myself) here.
This blog is for me to keep my memories alive.

And Amin, mommy wants you to know that mommy is very proud of you.
And surprised too that you actually are smart indeed.. haha..
And as promised, your ninjago as the high achievement award presents.

And yes, if you keep up the excellent achievement next year, mommy promise that more presents will come your way!
Just say it, and you'll get it!

None other than, Zachary Levi, of course.

I was totally waiting for the new season, because the last thing that happened during Season 4 finale, was that Morgan downloaded the intersect into his head, and survived.

Hence, it is expected that Morgan to be the hero in this fifth season.

Totally liking the new Sarah Walker hairdo.

Simply stunning and sexy.

But somehow I was a bit disappointed with this premier episode.

I hate the new plot of the bad guy which unlike the usual world-domination, this time it is to make sure Chuck fails in everything.

Sigh..

So, where's the fun in that?

You know how I love Chuck.

How can I ever watch something with evil scheme to bring him down.

Bummer.. now I'm not looking forward anymore to the next episode.

Low Lying Placenta

So now we know why I bleed almost once in two weeks.
Went to Prof Siti this afternoon, and she discovered that a portion of my placenta actually lying below the sac.

I have been bleeding quite regularly during this pregnancy.
It's like I can easily bleed after a 4 hours traveling back to hometown..
After taking the staircase to 2 floors down from my office just because I hate waiting for the lift..
Even after a weekend of window shopping, walking around the mall with hubby and kids!

Although I'm already at 16 weeks, Prof said that I have to be extra careful.
It's not in the placenta previa stage yet, because my placenta is not all located at the bottom.
Mostly is above the baby-sac, but they're like partially circling the sac at the moment.
Like a "C" shape.
Prof called the lower part of the placenta, the "tail" and that's what's currently placed below the baby-sac.
And that "tail" may have been the cause for the regular bleeding.
I didn't bleed excessively, just a spot or two or three, of fresh red blood.

Prof said that there's no medicine to push it up.
No massage allowed either.
Just pray, pray and pray that it'll go up and the baby sac helps push it up too as it grows.

As for now, no heavy lifting.
No going up and down the stairs even for just one floor.
And no window shopping around the mall to my heart's content.
Unless if hubby willing to push me with the wheelchair, that is.. hehe..

Johnny's worst role ever

The Tourist.
What more can I say?
Such a waste of film.
Anybody, just any other actor can pull this role.
I'd say this is by far wasting Johnny Depp's time and talent!
Yeah, so he got paid by acting, but shessshh.. what made him this desperate?
He has always picked the most creative roles of all time, and this just doesn't make the cut at all.

The pout-lipped Angelina Jolie noticeably looks healthy in this film, unlike in Wanted, but that's not the point.
I'm not sure if it is her being naturally 'cold' or that was what her role supposed to be.
But in the end, this film could freeze you to death because Johnny was not at all hot either.

Ok, so there were some twist here and there and the plot was something to be proud of.
But in the end, no press nor film critics could even confirm whether this was a drama or a comedy genre.
Johnny's attempt to be funny, just not funny at all.

Hmm..
Well, for what it's worth, at least you get the gawk at the beautiful Paris and enchanting Venice scenes.

Well, Breast Cancer, of course!

There has been several deaths this year, of those whom I personally knew, which related to breast cancer.
Although non were blood related to me, (and I am very much grateful to know that genetically I am free of cancer) all were shocking news, as they discovered at the critical cancer stage.
What happened to the curable 1st and 2nd stage?
My medical insurance covers for mammogram and pap smear screenings only at the age of 40 and above.
Forty years old?
Oh come on!
With this current lifestyle, unhealthy food, polluted air and water, don't cha think we need to revise that?
Early detection is crucial now.
We can't wait till 40, anymore.

And thanks to this video, which I can guarantee, us, women will gladly takes matters into our own hands.

Starring Hugh Jackman and directed by Shawn Levy, Real Steal is based on robots competing in boxing match.
No doubt, hunkalicious Jackman is indeed the perfect star for this role.

But the strength for the plot obviously came from Dakota Goyo, acting as his stubborn, yet determined son.

If you think that you're good in guessing the plot, well, think again, coz this film will unexpectedly gets to your deepest emotion.
Sound sappy, but that's my honest opinion.
Because I could cheer and scream with the crowd in the cinema.
And for that, I'm giving no less than 5 stars rating!

Amin came home from school with looks no different than other days before.
Unlike other kids running like mad towards the school gate, Amin has always been the calm ones.
Taking his own sweet time, whilst I frantically stretching my neck to locate his whereabouts amongst the hundreds of swarming bees!
It's like eternity for me to wait for him today.
Must be due to my anxiousness of wondering how were his Bahasa Malaysia papers today.
Which he then simply replied "Easy, mommy"
What?
That's it?
I almost choked whilst sending him off to school this afternoon and this the reply I got?
Huh..
So much for mommy getting nuts over a seven year old taking his exams.
Silly mommy!

Ok..
Tomorrow we will be having Maths, Agama, and Jawi..

That's referring to my growing belly, of course.
So, do we need to upgrade to a bigger car?

Do we need more space?
For the baby car seat?
For mommy to seat at the back for easy breastfeeding and baby handling?
Hmm.. nahhh.. I don't think so.
We do not need a bigger car.
We just need a more spacious leg area!

I am also baffled as to why my boys love to sit, play and even fall asleep here!

Forgettable Bridesmaid

Watched this film a few nights back, and well, lets just say I can hardly recall it.

Of course, different people have different review on films.
So, this is just me going against this acclaimed US box office success.

It's about Annie's best friend Lilian's getting married.
During Lilian's engagement party, Annie met other four bridesmaids which are Lilian's cousin, future sis-in-law, some friend and her fiancée-boss's wife who claimed to be the best buds of all which to sum it all up, ended up in rival with Annie in proving who's the most closest friend of all to Lilian.

The series of unfortunate events that follows basically relates to these bridesmaids spending time with Lilian, picking out the bridesmaids dresses, planning for bachelorette party and finally the huge wedding ceremony.
Annie became the maid-of-dishonour but of course like any other romantic comedy, the heroin will pull through in the end.

Oh wait, did I just say romantic?
Yes, the only thing that crystal clear in my mind is the officer Nathan.

Seamed to be having a crush at Annie, who was in a casual-sex relationship with Ted.
Oh thank god for Chris O'Dowd being the nerdy cute and so down-to-earth, that solely made me stay until the end of this movie.

Of course, you can guess, happy ending to all.

Caution : Not to watch with your kids because of the several sex scenes and explicit language used.

Defined in Wikipedia, Kryptonite is a material from the Superman mythos —the ore form of a radioactive element from Superman's home planet of Krypton. It is famous for being the ultimate physical weakness of Superman.

So, what is it that makes u weak/ dizzy/ lost sense of direction, as soon as it's near you, but regain all your powers a.k.a back to normal, as soon as it is gone?

Example, according to my friend Gya, her Kryptonite is the car's leather upholstery.

Whenever she steps inside my car, or QZ's car, which has the full leather interior, she will instantly feel dizzy and be very quiet as to restrain her self from the nauseous feeling.
Yup, worse than a pregnant woman, I'm telling ya!
And she gets all perked up like normal as soon she steps out of the car.
Cured completely, no prolong side effect.

So then it struck me that hey, I too have a Kryptonite.
It's the minyak cap kapak!

Oh my god!
Seriously!
I HATE THIS SMELL !!
I know that this is the Malaysian most favourite oil said to sooth the stomach aches, cold, and nausea.
But to me, I can seriously get a migraine if I am left to inhale this for 60 seconds!

And oh, I know darn well what's hubby's Kryptonite is then.
Definitely the Durian.

He would spot the odour a few blocks away and will have trouble sleeping with this Durian smell lingers in the house.

And believe me when I say that he could vomit when accidentally ate a Durian flavoured candy!
Yes, that's my hubby's Kryptonite.

Hi all..
First and foremost, thanks to all the wonderful wishes.
Special thanks to those texting and emailing me.. sooo sweet of u!

And again, so sorry for the lack of updates.
I'm not in the pink of health lately,.
The backpain.
The legpain.
The nausea.
The ever so sensitive nose.
The ever so tasteless tastebuds.
The lack of appetite.
The inconsistent digestion.
And many many more things that I am experiencing right now.

Ohh.. this pregnancy has started to take it's toll on me.
Unlike some people, mine started much later in the first trimester.
Not sure until when this will last.
Hope it's not too long.
Coz I get exhausted too quickly now.
Haven't got to do anything much lately as I get sleepy by 9pm.

Enough about the ramblings.

Hope you had a wonderful Eid and holidays with your loved ones.
Been meaning to update this before the Eid, but well, you know the drill..
So, here's the chronology event.

16th August 2011
Went to the panel clinic at work to check on myself because I was seriously late for my female-hormone 'cycle' which is big-a-deal to me considering that I am always on time, if you know what I mean.
And I've forgotten the last time I've had my period.
Was it June?
And Hunn said he never had an 'accident' before.
Dr.H ruled out that the urine pregnancy test result was negative.
And she said I could just be late in cycle because of the change in diet - since it was the middle of the fasting month by the way.

22nd August 2011
Went to the panel clinic at work, again, because another week has passed by and there's no sign of period or whatsoever, but coincidentally later the evening I did had a one-drop of blood on my panty liner.
Again, Dr.H ruled out that the urine test result as negative.
And sent me home with a urinal medication, in case if I might be having some infection in my urine as there was traces of blood.
Sigh..

24th August 2011 - 9am
That's it!
I'm going to another panel clinic, this time near our housing area.
Because there's still not a single blood apart from that one and only tiny drop, two days ago.
I pee for the urine test.
Dr.N examined it using the same test strip as Dr.H at the office panel clinic.
But happily announcing it as positive!
WTH??
It is the same exact test strip used before, ok!
I knew it, there's something wrong with Dr.H and the way she's analysing the test strip.
Because I did see the 2 lines myself, by she kept telling me that it was negative because the second line was not that dark..?? Duhhh?? Seriously, she needs to have her eyes checked!
Anyway, since Dr.N has an ultrasound machine in the clinic, she straight away told me to lie down and to proceed with scan to be sure.
Indeed, she saw the sac, shaped like a half filled balloon, but after a few minutes of pressing and rolling the probe onto my lower belly part she apologizes to the fact that she couldn't find any heartbeat, at all.
Gasp.
Dr. N said that it could have been a missed abortion.
Gasp.
Meaning that when the embryo or fetus has died, but a miscarriage has not yet occurred.
It is also referred to as delayed or missed miscarriage.
She said my body might be late in 'discharging' it and immediately issued me a referral letter for me to go to a hospital gynae to get it 'flushed' out accordingly.
Gasp.
Yup.
There was absolutely nothing that I can say, or possibly described how I felt at that time.

Hubby having kept my gynae mobile number, Prof Siti, immediately gave her a call to set for an urgent appointment at 2pm.
We're not gonna delay this any longer.
After all, Eid was just around the corner.
Ohh.. bare in mind that both my parents were performing umrah at mecca and it's just me, hubby and friends at work worried sick after seeing me getting my medical GL- guarantee letter for the missed abortion gynae appointment.

24th August 2011 - 2pm
Met Prof Siti at UMSC.
She read the referral letter and said, "Hmm.. wait.. let ME do the scan"
Using the UMSC larger looking ultrasound machine and probe and screen.
And wallaaa!
There's the heartbeat.
Beating strong and fast.
And Prof Siti continued to blab about how precious life is and how hard people to get pregnant, and yet there's still many clinic doctors easily summarises for missed abortion.

So, ta-daaaa!
Here's the video of the bun cooking inside my oven, at the moment.

It's like flickering very fast at the bottom of the sac.

Did you know that at 8 weeks old, the sac is actually the size of a tennis ball?
No wonder I feel fat throughout this fasting month.. huh!
And so much for hubby claiming never been in an 'accident'.. pffttt !
A good one, that is!

Countdown to Eid, three times a day..

"Mommy, can we go watch CARS after Raya?"

Unlike previous years, this time Amin definitely feel the heat warmer than anyone else.
He will talk about Eid during Iftar, after Terawih prayers, and during Sahur.
I promised him a NinjaGo toys for full complete fasting.
But from time to time, he changed his mind and wanting other toys.
It's like he has constantly been thinking on what he wants as the reward.
Because he knows that he's gonna finish fasting with flying colours.

So, how are your preparations for Eid going this year?
A friend of mine once created an Eid check-list last year, which sorry to say I couldn't find the file to share it with you today.
However, here's my check-list.

As far as I can recall, I never go to the extend of changing the furniture, or buying new curtains, or new carpets for Eid celebration.
I believe my parents never did so either.
We just changed to freshly washed curtains, vacuum the house, wipe the dusty furniture, cleaned the windows and drainage and mopped the floors.
Other items currently in check-list will be:

New clothes a.k.a baju raya (just the clothes, no raya shoes needed)
Cookies and titbits for visitors (usually we'll make some but since mom not here during Ramadhan, so no home-made cookies this year)
Money envelope a.k.a angpaw covers (we'll try to get the free ones from the supermarket or banks)
The money to put inside the angpaw (standard rate is about RM1 for the kampung kids and either RM5 or RM10 for relatives, age relevant of course)
Mercun a.k.a firecrackers. (favourites are the thunderclap and kingkats.. yup, this is a must!)

It's 16th day of Ramadhan.
Another half a month left to go.
But I'm already tired.
Tired of thinking.

Have to think of what to eat for Iftar, and Sahur, every single day.
For the sake of Amin, my 7 year old.
To make sure he still has the appetite to eat and continue to fast the following day.
Oh this is sooo difficult.
I've already run out of ideas.
Especially when I can't even feel my taste buds now.
Got fever recently and tonsillitis, and flu.
Badly lost my appetite for the past week.

But I salute my son, Amin.
Obviously, he is a simple person.
Everytime I asked him what to eat for Sahur, he will give the simplest solution.
The other day he requested for toasted bread with fried sunny-side up egg.
And there was time he suggested we order up lasagne and chicken wings from Domino's pizza before we sleep so that he can eat it for Sahur.

I don't care what he wants, I will get it.
As long as he eats up.
So far so good, he has been fasting full day.
Mommy so proud of you, Amin!

When is it time to move to other company?

Have you ever thought of hunting for a new job?

What exactly that made you decided to move out?

I was once in the state of shit whereby I hated my job and hated my boss the most.

Then somebody saved me and moved me to another division.

And I've been happy ever since!

I love my team and they make my job tolerable.

Of course, there's always ups and downs and problems here and there, but so far, there's nothing that we can't handle.

Although I wish that I could get paid more.

And I know that outside companies pays more too.

But all that matters to me is the team.

To me, no matter how horrible the job is, I can swallow it if I have great colleagues and bosses

I am easily satisfied.

Hence my wishes goes to hun.

So proud of you!

Today marks the day you signed your new appointment letter.

Hope you'll get an excellent team-mates in the future.

Kinda have the Rod Stewart look, I must say.
Believe it, I considered him to be the most handsome and smartest man alive at that time.
Gone head over heels for MacGyver, and followed the series like a hawk!

It's just plain fun to see the clever solutions MacGyver implemented using just the basic household items and with his ever so faithful red-swiss army knife, to get out of troubles.
It's like a different scientific breakthrough at each and every series.
And when science plus physics is involved, you can actually see the logic behind it and how it really works!
Who can get board with that?
Hmm.. did I just sounded like a geek?
Bwahahaha..

Ok, enough about that.
This post is to commemorate recent incident happened to me during an office seminar.
I was having a shoe malfunction to be exact.
My nike sneakers decided to stick out it's tongue at me.
LOL

Although Mr. Crab would have been very proud of me and my effort to try and walk, it was still a pain to do so.
So, what would MacGyver do?
After a few minutes of looking at my shoes instead of paying attention to the seminar, I just had this brilliant idea.
Thanks to Hj. Mus for helping me in locating these rubber bands.

After almost 20 years of his final series, I'm sure MacGyver will be very proud of me.

Not nailing it..

I bought this mani pedi groupon a month ago and thought it'd be great to spend time with my sisters in laws doing girly stuffs.
So we decided to cash in the voucher yesterday and sorry to say, we're not impressed.

I called the manicurist for directions and she did a great job telling us left, right, left, right, straight ahead etc.
Then I told her that I think we're going in circles, but I still couldn't find the "La Nail Spa Garden".
Only then she said "Oh, the shop is Face Affair".
FYI, the voucher is it called La Nail Spa Garden, but the shop actually labelled as "Face Affair".
How similar was that?

Aiyooosshhh! Felt like slapping my forehead.
Ohh, nevermind.
Lets get this done and over with.
The place located in shop lot area at Sunwaymas Commercial Centre PJU 1/3D, is just a cosy small parlor, with 2 chairs for the pedicure customers and 2 chairs for manicure customers
And the back end of the shop is for facial treatment.
Unfortunately, there's only 2 staffs here, one to do the manicure and the other to do the pedi.
We came in 3 so, obviously one had to sit out for afterwards.

Now lets talk about the service.
I am not a regular meni-pedi goers hence I have had only little experience so far, and the last time I did a mani-pedi was like 5 years ago.
Nevertheless, I can still recall the experience because I really enjoyed it and considered the treatment as worth every penny and time spent, and that was about RM75 for meni pedi which was done at Subang Parade.
This time, I was very disappointed.
Sad to say that this mani-pedi treatment which was said to worth RM135 leave me wondering what was the charges for anyway.

The manicure treatment was very quick and simple.
And I had to pay extra RM10 to opt for the buffering.
Which the manicurist did very quickly and I believe for RM10, it should be longer and more effort should be put in it.
Heck, I can do it far far better, I think.
And later she applied some sort of nail oil which that was what made the nail shined brightly.
Of course, after I washed my hand a few hours later, all I can see was only faded shimmer.

However, I give credits to the pedicurist.
I can see that she took her job seriously and was very dedicated indeed in cleaning my feet and nails.
I can see the effort and I'd say it's worth the experience.
But then again, I had to pay another extra RM10 for the buffering on all the toe nails.

Somehow this mani-pedi package does not include buffering.
Which not mentioned at all in the groupon package deal.
Since we are moslem and can't paint our nails, we simply had to skip the nail polishing part but the shop refuses to let us replace it with buffering and still charges us more for it.
Yes we can opt to not take the buffering, but hey, how do we get the beautiful nails then?
Mani-pedi is all about getting the beautifully shiny nails!
Duhhh..

Here's the summary of the groupon package deal and my comment on it.
It said that this mani-pedi includes:

Full manicure (RM35 value) - stated here as "FULL" but still charges for RM10 buffering.
Full pedicure (RM45 value) - stated here as "FULL" but still charges for RM10 buffering.
Hand hydrating massage (RM15 value) - no massage. she just put some OPI hand cream and just lathered it all over my arm. To me, the word massage means pressing the muscles or joints as to increase blood circulation etc..
Leg aromatherapy soak (RM10 value) - no soaking. just dip feet in water, took out and rub a dab here and there.
Leg hydrating massage (RM15 value) - ok, i noticed the massage done here but it's very minimal, about 90 seconds only and worth RM15? sheshhh..
Exfoliating sugar scrub (RM15 value) - yes, i noticed the scrubbing, and well done on this one because I do feel smoother feet !

Please let me know if you know a worth-the-money mani-pedi place that I could go to, because I am not coming back here again.

Zee's Scones had me at ohh-laaa-laaa..
and this means that it deserves to be blogged about!

All because of my naughty officemate Qz, sent us this link from goreng.my on the very 1st day of Ramadhan.
The emails got lengthy..
The excitement got overwhelmed..
And by the 3rd day of Ramadhan, as Qz told us all she ordered for herself to be picked up on Saturday, the drooling among us girls just worsen.
Yeah, what do you expect.. the desire for food during this fasting season is absolutely uncontrollable!

Hence, this calls for desperate measures.
SMS went flying between Zee and me.. and Baayah too.
In a few minutes, a deal has been made.

Zee (pictured above - curtesy of goreng.my) promised to make one batch of 20 pieces of her Cranberry Orange scones..
with clotted cream..
and freshly home-made lemon curd.

Baayah promised to pick it up as she lives near Zee's house..
on Friday morning, on her way to work..
and will do her very best to get to the office safely..
with all the 20 scones, no less.

Me, settled the payment..
coordinated with other girls..
reminded them to bring containers..
make sure everything be distributed evenly.

Lo and behold !
The smell !! Ohhhh myyyyy goddd!!
Seriously very very yummmeeehhh!!
Definitely testing my every bit of Iman.
Now, came the confession of I actually never eaten scones in my entire life and have no idea of what it is anyway.. Bwahahahha..
But never fear, coz the super friendly Zee quickly texted me how.

First, cut the scones into half.. but in my case, I cut it to my bite size.
Then, splat the clotted cream on top.. or all over it, however you like.
And finally, bathe it with the specially made lemon curd like syrup dripping onto it.

The following scenes cannot be viewed because the munching and swallowing was too fast and horrific, for any camera to capture.
Sorry folks.. Bwahahahha!

But what I can tell you is that :
- the Cranberry Orange scones smell is breathtakingly delicious.

Yeah, I know I've just watched the Harry Potter, but since I'm still upset about how it ends, I'm gonna blog about the Transformers, instead.

I love it !
LOVE it sooo much !
I think it was superb.
The storyline was totally unpredictable.
The robots were awesome.

The film was shot with 3D camera, hence watching it in 3D was the most perfect viewing ever!
Those who are not the transformers cartoon-fan, may not be able to get the who's who, but still can gawk at the special effects.
Directed by Michael Bay, Transformers : Dark of the Moon is the third instalment for this series of science-fiction-action franchise.
Like the first and second film, Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and John Turturro returned to star in here, with Peter Cullen as the voice of Optimus Prime and Hugo Weavingas the voice of Megatron.

The obviously new and sexy angel, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley who came to replace Megan Fox, actually did a pretty good job handling this action packed movie.
And I definitely not complaining about the dreamy looking Patrick Dempsey either.

The first film Transformers (2007) was about the start of the alien-robots of team-good, Autobots versus team-evil, Decepticon, invading planet earth to search for the Allspark cube.
The second film Transformers : Revenge of the Fallen (2009) was about Megatron being resurrected and Decepticon's long-trapped-leader, The Fallen's quest to harness energy by destroying the Sun and life on Earth.
This third and heard to be the last of Michael Bay's film, was about the Autobots long-trapped-leader, Sentinel Prime being resurrected and actually turned to join the evil-team in their quest to transport hundreds of concealed Decepticons buried on the Moon to the planet Earth and take over the world, making human the slaves.

Sounds like a boys movie.
And I have to admit that I may not enjoy it as much if I haven't gotten married to a Transformers nutto and gave birth to two boys with genetically transferred Transformers-nutto DNA.
Bwahahahhaa !!

All in all, I'm satisfied with it, although I do wish that Michael Bay did not end the film so abruptly after a few minutes of the climax!
Coz everybody went home wanting for more.

Another 5 more days to the most awaited fasting month of Ramadhan.

Both of my parents will be boarding the plane to the holy land, Mecca to spend the whole month there.
Something that mom has been planning for so long.
I'm happy for them.. of course.. even wished that I could come along.
But, maybe just not my time, yet.
I'm already feeling like this is gonna be one very sad Ramadhan for me..

Amin got exam starting Tuesday 26th July and he JUST told me about it!!
No letter notification from teachers??
What kind of school is this??
Urghhhh..
Thanks to Zie from work confirming that his son also has exam starting next week.
It's like every Standard One student nationwide will be having exams.

So, now, I am in full swing with Amin doing revisions, at the same time screaming at Arif that keeps bugging us, also wanting to do revision with coloured pencils and paper!

Hooray for Glucolin

Once again, Arif was having bad stomach ache a couple of weeks ago.
He vomited since the break of dawn and got me worried sick.
By noon, there's practically nothing in his stomach as he kept vomiting every single thing that we gave him.
And he's already scared of eating anything.
We took him to the doc and he said it was just gas.
But perhaps the gas was too much, causing him to constantly vomit, even the medicine got out.
We were advised to give him small bites of food, with time gap, like a munch in a few minutes.
Just to slowly get the food into him.

I almost forgot that we have this glucose Glucolin blackcurrant drink.
Oh thank god for my Glucolin-born-fanatic-hubby! hahaha.. yes, this is hubby's drink!
And it's a must to stock up, during the upcoming fasting month of Ramadhan.

Just to note, for vomiting kids, best to give glucose to cover the loss of water and to provide instant energy.

And for the food, I made small cuts bread with nutella.
First, take a white bread.

Then, remove the edges and cut it to 9 squares.

Next, splat the nutella on top.
There you have it, Arif called it baby-nutella !

And this was what left of it, after 30 minutes of slow and steady munching.
Phew.. no more vomiting after that.

And of course, with every baby-nutella, must come the big-brother-nutella too.
Amin's nutella is slightly bigger than Arif, of course.
I made the 4 square-cut for him.

Simple and cute.

And the most important is that, it works !

Suits the place very much, with the pink-red-toned chequered tiles and table tops.

Apart from the lovely round delicious looking chicken mushroom pie, there's this large chicken turkey sliced sandwich, so huge that it must be the portion for 2 people!
No, QZ did not finish all of this by herself.. tapau it back to the office..

I don't know what to categorise this place as, because it serves both the western and local selections.
Fusion might best described it, then.
Gya opt for the classic lasagne.

While Nadz went traditionally with white rice and chicken curry.. ohh this curry was nice!!
And you'll be surprised to find there's actually sticky-rice durian served for dessert.

Note that we got FREE ice cream desserts for purchases more than RM40 !!
Woot Woot!!
Which we then chose the ice-cream-banana-wrap.

Conclusion, we're loving this place!

Hello readers!
Once again, I'm on my quest to blog as much about lunch-outing as possible.
These food pictures are flooding my iphone and my officemates are wondering why do I always snap pics when we're out lunch, but fail to blog about it instantly.
Sorry mates. I'm slacking. I know!

So, what's makes a restaurant famous?
Is it the food?
Is it the drinks?
Is it the ambiance?
Or is it the location?

This time, I think it must be due to the location.

Located in Bangsar.
Located at the exact spot of the old Devi's Corner.
Located at a corner lot area, impossible not to pass by it, in this small crowded Bangsar area.
Chawan is the name.
And I just don't get what the fuss is about this place anyway.

Asam laksa, which Nadz discovered that the junks were too much inside it.
Making it a hassle to eat.

Briyani rice with chicken, that Skin and Zie rated as so-so.

This one, at first I liked it, but after a few bites, it sort of felt too much on the coconut milk.

Maybe I can just give the credits to the drinks.
The ice blended coffee and the tripple layer frappé did impressed us.

Or maybe it's just the heat?
Hmm..
Being in Bangsar zone, I would say it's such a hefty price to pay for a typical kopitiam so-so standard.

Yes!
Just like the Royal Wedding scenes that I blogged about recently.
I took the opportunity to wear this hat during Amin's sports day last weekend.

It was after all, an outdoor field event.
Assuming to be hot and sunny.
Such a perfect weather and event, for hats and such.. don't cha think so?
I specially requested my officemate, QZ who went to Melaka for a product roadshow to search and buy one for me.
I was superrr excited to wear this hat.
Heck, I even thought I'd be the only one wearing it.
But who knew, I was dead wrong.

The teachers beat me to it.

And I felt like stealing this one from her!
Pure envy!!

Our Sporty Weekend

It was Amin's Sport's Day last Sunday, 3rd May 2011.

He's in the BLUE house.

As usual, there's the Red, Yellow and Green house too.

The whole school's getting ready to begin the event.

It was 8.00am.

Started with the official marching into the field, each classroom, one by one.

Followed up by chilling up inside the tent because it ended up drizzling.

Here's Amin with his classmates.

After an hour waiting, finally the sun came shining down on us.

Amin joined the kids relay sukaneka games.

Where he had to move around the obstacle cone by rolling this ginormous ball around it.

Then, had to picked the ball up to jump over the mini-fence.

And rolling it back the other way for the next team member's turn.

Look how huge the ball was.

Look how cute the fences were! hahaha

Amin did great!

But it was a team effort and it's all about spirit of participation.

We got 3rd !

BRONZE!

But Amin was not that happy, because his best friend Rayyan in Red team got Silver.

Amin wanted to get Gold medal.

I had to keep reminding him, this was team effort and although he ran the fastest, it all depends on the whole team. Hence, I told him, next time, we enter the solo run, ok!

But for now, Congrats on your FIRST EVER SPORTS MEDAL, Amin !!

Shoootttt !! I'm completely stressed out today !!

This gonna be one of those ramblings post from me, blabbing about how stressed I am today because of several things.

Amin got bullied at school yesterday. One of his classmates snatched his lunchbox, ran away with it, ate every chicken nuggets, and then left the lunchbox back on the canteen table, which Amin had to go down and get it after questioning him inside the classroom, as soon as tea-break was over. Amin said he told his class teacher by she did nothing. Amin has this allergy towards seafood, and peanuts hence that's why I make sure to prepare him snacks every single day and not encouraging him to buy from the canteen because I don't want him to accidentally ate the crab-nuggets, instead of fish-balls nuggets as the canteen never label these food at all. Hence when somebody stole his snack, this means that he has no food to eat, and only water to drink. Can you imagine how angry I was with this? Oh I feel like going over there today and give this kid a piece of my mind! After consulting with several close friends of mine, I've decided to just ring the school up and report this to the disciplinary teacher, and we'll see if this occurs again today. Coz if it repeats again, then ohh please hold me down coz I'm gonna rip your head off, you bully!! You mess with Amin, you mess with his "angry-momma"! You heard that!?
Next, I'm having this major session at the middle of the town tomorrow morning and I need to be there sharp by 8.30am. It's like beyond impossible ok! I have to move out of the house by 7am to make sure I get there on time! WTF!!!
Hubby is out on workshop this whole week and heck, it's all me handling these loads of shittt !
This advert that I'm working on came out wrong in today's newspaper and I'm pissing myself out with the A&P team.
I'm on my monthly-period! DAMNNNN these hormones!!

KUALA LUMPUR, June 21 — One million Klang Valley residents will face a 48-hour water supply cut beginning 8am tomorrow as the Sungei Selangor water treatment plant will be shut for maintenance and upgrading works.
Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas) said today that this would affect those living in Kuala Lumpur, Gombak, Petaling and Hulu Selangor once the plant in Ijok goes offline.
Corporate affairs executive director Abdul Halen Mat Somon said that sluice valves and pumps will be fixed and the water supply system upgraded.
“We will have our emergency response plan (ERP) on standby to provide water tankers to consumers. But we advise the public to store water,’’ he said.

The public can call the Syabas Hotline at 1-800-88-5252 for details on the areas affected as well to request for water tanker services; or SMS PUSPEL and send to 39222; or log on to www.syabas.com.my.

Two celebrations at one time

Last Saturday we attended the double celebrations hosted by my sister in law, for both her daughters.

First up was the akikah for her newborn baby Fatini.

With the decorative swing beautifully done in the centre of the living room.

Which then my kids ended up playing as soon as baby Fatini was out.

Phewwww.. thank god.

I can't imagine baby Fatini flying across the hall in this.

I think they're pretty amazed at the never-seen-before pink swing.

Next, followed by the big sista, Fatihah's 5th Birthday bash.

My boys excitedly waiting to blow them candles out.

We had an eventful weekend.
Weddings and akikah and birthday party invitations.
But no matter how tired we were, every moment counts and the most important thing is that we had loads of fun.
I'll blog about them all tomorrow, coz now, it's daddy's time!

But the 3-tier watch stand.. hahaha.
Yeah, he has been keeping them all scattered inside the drawer.
So, I thought it'll be pretty neat to give him this.

Now that's been taken care of, not to forget about the greatest man in my life, my dearest Ayah.

He's such a sweet man.
With sweet tooth!
So, it was easy to please.

Specially made chocolate with less sugar and baked almond with bluberry fillings!

I see signs everyday.

I'm sure you do too.

Not only because I commute to work..

..that I get to see this everyday of the week..

..while queuing to board the train..

..while standing patiently, waiting for my destination..

..and while waiting for the building lift to go up to the office.

I'm sure you've seen all those signs before.

They are very common indeed.

And you can simply google to see weird/ funny signs around the world.

As for me, I found this directly from the staircase of the office!

All movie slots were fully booked.
It's school holiday, what do you expect.
And having intelligent kid who is knowledgeable in all movie releases, Amin kept pestering us to take him to watch Kung Fu Panda 2.

Hubby got the seats, but it was 5 rows from the front.
At first I was a bit worried that I might get headache watching it too closely.
But happy to inform that for 5th row in cinema hall 6 GSC 1utama, it is aye-ok!
The hall is not huge and hence the screen fit nicely for viewing.

This time I have to admit that Kung Fu Panda 2 storyline is the very best for the kids.
It highlighted the love for parents and how we should be grateful for what we have.

Although the "inner peace" scene is sort of unexplainable to the kids, but other than that, this action packed movie sequel is totally entertaining. Five stars all the way!

Tuna rolls for tea

Another instant recipe from me.

All you need is bread, tuna-in-a-can and butter.

First up is the put a spoonful amount of tuna onto the bread.

Then flip it.

And don't forget to splat some butter in between the bread.

The butter helps keep the bread together and for better frying too.

No need oil, just lay them all onto the pan.

Leave it on for about 2 minutes.

Flip them over.

Let the bread toast evenly on both sides.

Another 2 minutes here.

And wallaaaa!

Cut them in style.

Yummyyyy!!
