Calamari, perhaps ?

This was supposed to be a sad news, well, it is actually but I can't stop to wonder about the possibility of it being a dish.
Paul the octopus, who predicted the recent Fifa 2010 World Cup matches, died today at the age of 2 years old.
According to Stefan Porwoll, the director of the Oberhausen Sea Life Center in Germany, "He appears to have passed away peacefully during the night, of natural causes, and we are consoled by the knowledge that he enjoyed a good life"

It is stated here that no funeral arrangements have been made, but Porwoll said Paul would be kept in cold storage until the staff at the center decided how best to memorialize him.

p/s : this post is dedicated to my sis-in-law, adik feezah, for excitedly updating me about paul's death.

Ouch !

My Roger Federer lost to Andy Murray, again..
Yup.
Last August, Andy beat Fedex in the 2010 ATP Toronto Masters.
And today, once again, straight set win for Andy, 6-3, 6-2, in the 2010 ATP Shanghai Rolex Masters.

Watch it at your own risk !

.. that is my sole warning for those of you who are planning to watch this latest movie directed by Ryan Murphy and starred by Julia Roberts, Javier Bardem and James Franco.

This movie is an adaptation from the book "Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia" which is a 2006 memoir by American author Elizabeth Gilbert. The memoir chronicles the author's trip around the world after her divorce and what she discovered during her travels.
I would label this movie as a romantic-comedy-chick-flick-life-changing type, with a very much predictable flow and of course, the classic happy ending.
My warning, is that do not watch this movie, if you are currently in a shaky relationship.
This warning goes to both male and female species.
This is because that in this movie, it focuses more on 'free-ing' yourself from it, rather than digging to the roots of the matter, doing your very best to make it work.
There's no discussing or talking or rationalizing the problem/ issues at hand etc etc..
Instead, this movie opt to deal with issues in a vague way, which in the end it made the audience feel that the best and only solution was to split up.
Very much contradicts with me who prefer to let the lava all out at once and get it over with instantly, rather than to live with the search for answers, reasons, is it your fault or mine questionnaires.
Also do not watch this movie, if you just undergone a bitter broke up (or divorced).
Same goes again to both female and male species.
This is because that you may feel the hurt even more, resulting in difficulties to move on and will be afraid to start a new relationship.

Only watch this movie if you are either one listed below:
  • Single and available.
  • Dating or in courting phase.
  • Madly, deeply in love with your spouse.
  • Already married for 25 years and very much immune to any couple-fights.
Having said all that, without a doubt, I would like to announce to the world that I'm soooo in love with Javier Bardem.
He's not the hunk-a-licious yummy six packs looking bloke, but more of a matured-manly-romantic-guy with jagged jaw line just swept me off my feet!
Ok.. So, back to the movie, the thing I salute most about it (apart from the above hunk), is the choice of words, sentences and the whole scripting thingy.  Indeed the movie is well-predicted, but the flow of words are full of surprises and creatively put together.
Hence, if you enjoy poetry, you may love each and every bit of this movie.

One reminder, do come into the cinema with a full belly because the food-tasting-feast scenes in Italy will seriously make you drool hungrily.
Lastly, I feel that Indonesia should be paying Ryan Murphy because I am sure the tourism industry will boom drastically as this movie shows tons of stunningly breathtaking scenes in Bali.

    Impossible

    Loving this song, momentarily.

    (IMPOSSIBLE by SHONTELLE)
    I remember years ago
Someone told me I should take
Caution when it comes to love
    I did, I did
And you were strong and I was not
    My illusion, my mistake
    I was careless, I forgot
    I did
And now when all is done
    There is nothing to say
You have gone and so effortlessly
    You have won
You can go ahead tell them

Tell them all I know now
Shout it from the roof top
Write it on the sky line
All we had is gone now
    Tell them I was happy
    And my heart is broken
    All my scars are open
Tell them what I hoped would be
    Impossible, impossible
    Impossible, impossible

Falling out of love is hard
    Falling for betrayal is worst
    Broken trust and broken hearts
    I know, I know
Thinking all you need is there
Building faith on love is worst
    Empty promises will wear
    I know (i know)
And know when all is gone
    There is nothing to say
And if you're done with embarrassing me
On your own you can go ahead tell them

Tell them all I know now
Shout it from the roof top
Write it on the sky line
All we had is gone now
    Tell them I was happy
    And my heart is broken
    All my scars are open
Tell them what I hoped would be
    Impossible, impossible
    Impossible, impossible
    Impossible, impossible
    Impossible, impossible
    Impossible, impossible

    Ooh impossible (yeah yeah)

    I remember years ago
Someone told me I should take
Caution when it comes to love
    I did

Tell them all I know now
Shout it from the roof top
Write it on the sky line
All we had is gone now
Tell them I was happy (i was happy)
    And my heart is broken
    All my scars are open
Tell them what I hoped would be
    Impossible, impossible
    Impossible, impossible
    Impossible, impossible
    Impossible, impossible
    Impossible, impossible

    I remember years ago
Someone told me I should take
Caution when it comes to love
    I did

    Perfect date?

Sorry for the late entry, but just for the record, what was your 10th of October 2010 like?
Apart from the numerous wedding invites..
And also the post-eid-ul-fitr celebrations (yeah, we're still very much not stopping yet)..
Our weekend dated 10.10.10 was solely focused on Cartoon Network !!
    Yeah, you heard it right.
It has been advertised since like forever!
And Amin has been counting the days for this.
It's completely a full day of Ben 10 series back-to-back from the break of dawn, straight to the midnight hour !
Yeah, so we just hang around watching TV.. big deal, huh?
I thought Amin has grown out of Ben 10 already, but I guess kids will always be kids.
Here's a picture of him, 2 years ago, celebrating his birthday with Ben 10 cake.
    And check out the Omnitrix.
    Pretty cool huh?
Oh, I surely am gonna miss these days.
He grows up so quickly... makes me feel sad inside..
I wish I could freeze the time and just enjoy the moments.
Only pics can keep the memories alive.

    Emotionally Happy

    It's mom's 59th birthday today !

And let me tell ya, it was one very emotional too.
Mom got upset that we didn't wish her Happy Birthday!
Reason being is that both my sister and I were flat out last night.
I have been sneezing badly and took the meds at night and was knocked out before 11pm.
My sister on the other hand was having her period cramps and was fast asleep by 9.30pm after taking the pain-killer.
As morning arrived, being the usual Mondays, it was a busy day indeed for me and my sister had classes too from morning till evening.
Okay, so, it was really our fault that we have forgotten to wish her Happy Birthday as early as that morning.
But that doesn't mean that we completely forgotten about it.
My sister and I have it all planned out since Saturday.
We have decided to take mom to dinner at this Thai Restaurant.
Located at Uptown Petaling Jaya district.
It's a quiet place and only the know, will know.. if you know what I mean.. hehehe..
There's really no banner or obvious advertisement in displays.
But it is indeed a very famous place among the people who works in Uptown area.
The place is called "Phai Lin Thai Cuisine"
And to top it all up, we even made a special cake for mom, all ready on Sunday, and nicely hidden in the freezer, even dad himself couldn't find the cake !
Presenting, my sister's latest invention, Manggo Cheesecake !!
And mark my word when I say that it is flooded with MANGGO !!
    Yummmyyyyy!!
    Happy Birthday Mom !!
Please forgive us for the late wishes !!
    WE LOVE YOU !!!
