In memories

08/02/2008
Nice date huh?
Well, not for us.
It was the day my father in law passed away due to heart attack.

I regret for not making the effort to get to know him.
Totally my fault.. Ampunkan Aida Ayah..
But I'm glad that Amin shared his greatest interest with him.
And that was herding cows.
My father in law breed and raised about 13 cows all by himself.
He was full of passion when talking about cows.
He enjoyed breaking his sweat throughout the day just to care for these cows.
And that's why I ended up crying like mad when we sold off the cows 3 days after he died because there's no one to take care of them.
It was also unfortunate that Ayah died a month before I gave birth to Arif, because I'm sure Arif would love to get down and dirty becoming a farm-boy like his big bro Amin playing with these cows.
Here are some pictures that I want to share in memories of my late father in law..

Our one and only family photo, during Aidul-fitri 2005
Thanks to Tokwan, Amin got to ride on Frank - that's what we called the paddy harvesting machine
Walking the cows back to the barn

Loving the farm animals

Cruising in Tokwan's Bumblebee!

Majlis tahlil untuk arwah ayah, kita buat malam ni di Masjid Penaga, Kepala Batas, Penang.
Alfatihah...

Missing The Legacy

I was wearing grey shaded clothing today and as I was about to pick which bag to use, it stabbed me right into my heart that I'm missing my one and only grey.. Yup, I recently sold her to funds up for new purchases..
So here's a tribute for my ever so gorgeous Coach Legacy Garcia Leather Grey Tote, style # 12705.
Who would have ever thought that this perfectly gorgeous grey shade is fit to pair up with pink!
She was part of the 2008 Coach Legacy Collection and made from the super soft yet very durable Italian Garcia lightweight distressed leather, with antique brass hardware.
Check out the Legacy Stripe sateen fabric lining, that's the star of the show.

In case you're wondering, here are some features of the bag

  • Brass Turnlock front flap closure.
  • Hidden front slide pocket.
  • Gussetted double 10.5" drop strap with stud detailing

I heart Elmo

I want to thank all those involved in creating the Sesame Street, especially Elmo, and more specific are the writers and producers of this Elmo Song series.
This song clip never failed to mesmerised my son.
No matter how bad he's crying, he will abruptly stop to this tune.

It's definitely one of my seven wonders of the world!

And in case you're wondering, here's the lyrics;

(ELMO'S SONG by ELMO SESAME STREET)
This is the song
La la la la
Elmo's song.
La la la la,
La la la la,
Elmo's song.

La la la
La la la la, la
La la la
La la la la, la

He loves to sing,
La la la la,
Elmo's song.
La la la la,
La la la la,
Elmo's song.

He wrote the music.
He wrote the words.
That's Elmo's song.

(BIG BIRD)
This is the song,
La la la la
Big Bird's song.
La la la la,
La la la la,
Big Bird's song.

La la la
La la la la, la
La la la
La la la la, la

I love to sing,
La la la la,
Big Bird's song.
La la la la,
La la la la,
Big Bird's song.

I love the music.
I love the words.
That's Big Bird's song!

(SNUFFY)
This is the song,
La la la la
Snuffy's song.
La la la la,
La la la la,
Snuffy's song.

La la la,
La la la la.
La la la la la.
La la la,
La la la la.
La la la la la.

I love to sing,
La la la la,
Snuffy's song.
La la la la,
La la la la,
Snuffy's song.

He wrote the music.
We wrote the words.
That's Snuffy's,
that's Big Birds
That's Elmo's song!

Oh, Yeah!

It's Mommy's turn..

It was Monday.
Like any other Mondays, it's a hectic start of the week.
Too many meetings, too many things to handle, too little time.
I'm just too tired already.
Looking forward to a relaxing time at home, after an hour stuck in the usual never ending after-office traffic.

Just mommy, baby, and his big-bro..
Daddy's outstation.
What could possibly go wrong?
Baby got fever.
Rushed to clinic.
Rushed back home.
Bathe the big bro.
Fed the big bro.
Fed baby.
Gave baby medicine.
Changed baby to sleep.

Kids glued to 'Backyard Science' at 552.
Oh thank god!
Now mommy's turn.
Mommy showered. Mommy ate.
Big bro got homework.
Mommy tried to help.
Baby poured water on the bed.
Bed got wet.
Baby's pyjama got wet.
Mommy wiped water.
Baby grabbed colour pencils.
Baby snatched the homework.
They're quarrelling, yelling, throwing stuffs.
Mommy's crying.
Changed baby's pyjama.
Mommy's crying.
Changed bed sheet.
Mommy's crying.
Checked big bro's homework.
Mommy's crying.
Put baby to sleep.
Mommy's still crying.

Please Allah, give me the strength and the patience.. I really need it..

Cooling weekend

Love coming here for the ice-cream feeds.. our spot is at Subang Parade..
It's less crowded compared to SS2 branch.

Here's Amin playing with Bob the Builder's Scoop and Arif trying to do the 'peace' sign with Acik Ajar, while waiting for the food to arrive.

Favourite dish, mommy call this "the baby burgers" (49'ers)

..and now, the ice cream time.. Amin's figuring out how long will it take to melt.. haha..

..and Arif's completely knocked-out !

How did my Coach affair started?

This post is dedicated to recall back my very first Coach handbag.
Here she is, the Coach Hamptons Signature Business Tote Carryall, style # 8K07
Hubby went to United States, attending a conference in May 2007 and brought back this tote for me.. (the coach scarf and koala fob were bought afterwards from ebay)
Little did he realised that he actually initiated the beginning that caused so much damages to my credit cards till this very day! bwahahaha !!

Then followed up by an officemate vacation trip to the States a year later; dearest Raz and kak Ija, brought back this hobo for me, my second Coach acquisition, thw Coach Hamptons Weekend Novelty Small Hobo Scribble in Khaki, style # 10698.
I actually didn't use these bags at all ! I kept it locked in the closet and only took it out to admire it once in a while and modelling it around the house.  Why? Because these are my one and only branded bags (we're not counting Elle and Guess in here) and they are indeed the most expensive I have ever had! (at that time!)
Well, ok, so I did carry it once or twice, to weddings invitations and special occasions but heck, I think it was less than 5 times! I was so paranoid that I might get it dirty or torn apart as they are made of fabric. Yes, I was that naive and didn't know about the durability and water resistance of the signature jacquard fabric and  that it can be cleaned up with Coach Fabric Cleaner!
Ok, so that was me in the earlier days..

Anyways, at that time, I still contunue to use my Elle and Guess handbags to work.
Until November 2008, when we passed by the Coach boutique at The Gardens Midvalley which then suddenly I became a COACH junkie and then, it's just no turning back! click to read what happened next! haha!

Red Eye? Aye? or Nay?

Call me copycats, I don't care, I want to talk about sunnies too! Inspired by irene-alia's post and kaezrin latest acquisition!

Seriously, I've been looking for this after seeing Rihanna wearing it.

..and Eva Longoria too..

Recently, I've gone to the LV boutique KLCC just to 'try' it out and see how this oversized sunnies may actually look on me but there's no Gina in Pomme available anymore.. they only have one in light tortoise with floating LV (the bottom right Gina in pic above) and when I tested it, the SA said the colour didn't suit me.. and I couldn't get a second opinion because my other half, hubby, was not there with me either..*sigh*...
Hmm..
What do you think?
I can see that it looks spectacular on ladyverde, well, that is partly because she's a complete drop-dead-gorgeous, but what about me?
Will it work?

I got wet..

..during shooting these.

It's indeed a blessing to have the rain pouring down this afternoon, as it has been very humid and hot here lately.
I don't know about you, but I seriously love the smell of the air during rainy days.
It always smells so fresh and filled with purity.

As I was closing the window, I realised I just had to go out there and take these pictures because it's just too beautiful to ignore!

Absolutely amazing that hubby's Nikon D700 with 50mm lens can capture the water drops beautifully.

Can't believe that I really took these pictures, myself.
Especially this..

And my favourite of all.. miss white orchid..
p/s: hunney if u're reading this, do not freak out, I took really great care of the camera and covered it with my t-shirt! hehehe :)

Bag of the day

For two days in a row, I have been using this bag to work.
It is Coach Ergo Red Patent Leather Hobo, style # 12886.
I definitely not bored to tell you over and over again that when it comes to Ergo, it is indeed the most lightweight leather bag ever made by mankind!
With my stuffs loaded in it (and believe me, I carry all but the kitchen sink!), I can hardly felt the weight on my shoulder.
Just to enlighten you, here are some features of the bag:
  • Fabulous lightweight Coach patent leather hobo shoulder bag.
  • Zip top closure with matching leather zipper pull.
  • Single shoulder strap with 11" drop length.
  • Front pocket with Coach Brass Button accent.
  • Large Interior zip pocket
  • Two Cellphone/multifunction pockets
  • Beige cotton twill fabric lining.
  • D-Ring to clip an accessory or keyfob
  • Matching Coach red patent leather hang-tag
  • Size 13.5" (L) x 9" (H) x 4.5" (W)

The red shade is not too dark, nor too light, nor tomato shade, nor is it orange-ish like the Madison Cherry collection.. it's in the 'just-nice' red zone..
It's superrrrr light, scratch proof, stain proof, and the patent leather actually has an elegant shimmery effect like its filled with gold-dust!  Oh, have I mentioned that it's patent leather and hence very durable in the rainy days too? hehehe..
What more can you ask for?!
It's perfect, and I love it!

It's actually the very first Coach bag that I gave as a present to my mother.. but she only wore it for less than 3 times, as far as I can remember, that is!
Initially, when my dad saw the bag, he asked "What's that?" (referring to the brand)
I said "Coach".
Then he said "There's no Coach"
Then I pulled the hang-tag to show him and he asked "That's it?"
Hmmm.. ok.... anywayyyy.. at the same time, I gave the same style bag except in Mahogany and in larger size to my sister and she was screaming with joy because it's perfectly what she was looking for, a bag that doesn't yell out Coach!
And a few months later, I bought for my mom the Coach Madison Medium Op Art Khaki Brown Sabrina, style # 12947, which am proud to say that from October 2009 till this very day, she has been using it non-stop!  (And because of that, it's my responsibility to take her red ergo hobo out for some fresh air.. hehe.. )
Yeah.. I thought so.. she loves to flaunt the logos (prints) around!
And while looking at the Madison Op Art, my dad said "Now, that, is Coach!" (yeah, i supposed my dad loves to see the logos prints too! the bigger, the better! hehe)

You happy?

I don't know whats in his head at times but this was just one of those moments..
He sat down by the bed, looked at me and asked if I'm happy being with him?
Spontaneously, I answered "Yes!"
Then I said "Why did you ask?"
He just shook his head referring to nothing.
Hmm.. maybe he's just having some 'valentine's mood swing' perhaps.. although kind to think of it, we never did celebrate valentines before..
As I was walking out of the bedroom, I asked him back the same question.
Wanna know his answer?
That, you have to ask him yourself ;)
