Something from the mind of an unpredictable-woman-mommy-wife who wish she could eat anything and everything and still never ever gain weight. Now thinking of moving to another country.. Too much political drama here!! Well, not that I care about it.. but still..

Testing the Tajima
I'm in !!
The Hana Tajima fever !
Yes, you heard it.
I've been on her blog the whole night and watching all youtubes by her.
It's just soooo amazing!
I mean, it's no big deal really, just another way of hijab but she did it beautifully.
How? Of course, the major reason is that she herself is flawlessly gorgeous!
So, try your hardest, coz you ain't gonna look like her, even if you do have the slightest freckles!
Yes Nini, I follow.. Hehe

At School on Saturday
At this moment, you must be relaxing at home with family or out watching movies or window shopping or sleeping perhaps.
But not me.
We're at Amin's school for the briefing on the government newly introduced curriculum module for the primary school.
So this is our first ever parents-teacher meet up in discussion about the children education standard.
Coincidentally, Amin is up in his classroom because school is as normal today in replacement of the upcoming Chinese New Year week long holiday.
Anyway, just to highlight, the latest revision on education concept was done by the gov in year 2003, which in short, was to include coverage in human communication, positive development and human relation to nature and spiritual.
This newly introduced concept is to include three more major module which are personality growth, physical and intellectual development, and on top of it all is the science & technology involvement.
The main point of the day is that the marking scheme for the main primary school examination, the UPSR will be based on 60% - 40% segregation whereby the 60% is the official-on-paper-examination marks, and the other 40% is to come from on-school-activities.
Yup, no more the traditional 100% test-paper-based-results.
Interesting enough that the teacher said that they're gonna include the science and technology learning on top of all subjects.
Looking forward to see that done.
But for now, me looking at boring Arif and sleeping hubby! LOL

If I die young..
(IF I DIE YOUNG by THE BAND PERRY)
If I die young bury me in satin
Lay me down on a bed of roses
Sink me in the river at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song
oh oh oh oh
Lord make me a rainbow, I’ll shine down on my mother
She'll know I’m safe with you when she stands under my colors, oh and
Life ain't always what you think it ought to be, no
ain't even grey, but she buries her baby
The sharp knife of a short life, well
I’ve had just enough time
If I die young bury me in satin
Lay me down on a bed of roses
Sink me in the river at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song
The sharp knife of a short life, well
I’ve had just enough time
And I’ll be wearing white when I come into your kingdom
I’m as green as the ring on my little cold finger
I’ve never known the lovin' of a man
But it sure felt nice when he was holding my hand
There’s a boy here in town says he’ll love me forever
Who would have thought forever could be severed by
The sharp knife of a short life, well
I’ve had just enough time
So put on your best boys and I’ll wear my pearls
What I never did is done
A penny for my thoughts, oh no I’ll sell them for a dollar
They're worth so much more after I’m a goner
And maybe then you’ll hear the words I've been singin’
Funny when you're dead how people start listenin’
If I die young bury me in satin
Lay me down on a bed of roses
Sink me in the river at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song
oh oh
The ballad of a dove
Go with peace and love
Gather up your tears, keep ‘em in your pocket
Save them for a time when your really gonna need 'em oh
The sharp knife of a short life, well
I’ve had just enough time
So put on your best boys and I’ll wear my pearls
Throughout this week, I'm hooked with this song.
Simply because hubby made this his ringtone.
But I have to admit, she has the most beautiful voice, and this is indeed the most soothing song that I've heard in a long time! (after my all time favourite, Terrified, of course!)

First day blues
Today marks the 2-weeks of Amin in Standard One.
And there's practically no words to describe how relieved I am that he's adapting well in school.
Because something happened to Amin on his first day in Standard One.
This is one of those unforgettable incidents.
Before the school ended, I was already standing behind his classroom back door waiting for him.
It was about 6.40pm and I was busy on the iPhone trying to blog using blogpress.
It was roughly about 2 minutes to 6.30pm and I heard the teacher said "OK Class. Pack your things, stand up, push the chair in under the table".
Then I heard the rumbling sounds of the children standing and furniture banging each other and same thing happened to the class next door too.
All of a sudden the ambiance was very noisy with the newbies excited to go home after their first day experience.
But, there he was, my son, still sitting down at his place, and colouring the paperwork given by the teacher.
The school bell rang.
The students yelled on top of their lungs, simultaneously "Thank you, Teacher!"
Teacher told them to line up and walk out of the classroom in lines so that they don't step on each other.
And still my son continued doing his work.
And the teacher left the room.
I stopped her as she walk passed me.
And I asked "Why is Amin still in there?"
She said " I already told everybody to pack up. I didn't want to force him to stop as this is his first day, and he said he haven't finished it."
And then she just left.
Me? I was in complete shock, of course!
What if I'm not there waiting for him?
How long will he stayed in there?
All alone?
It's already 6.30pm and it's getting dark!
Which in this case, no, he did not see me waiting for him there because I was leaning behind the back door facing out and Amin was sitting at the very front of the room.
So I rushed inside with my eyes wide and scared;
Me : Amin, what are you doing?
Amin : I have to finish this colouring.
Me : Why? Everybody already left for home. Didn't teacher said to pack your things, just now?
Amin : But teacher didn't said that to me.
Arrrgghhhhhh !!
He was expecting the teacher to said directly to him that he can stop doing things, he can pack it up, and finish it later at home.
He wasn't questioning the fact that other kids also did not finish their work, yet, had gone home on time.
Oh God..
I then told him that when teacher said "OK Class" it means to everybody, including him, and especially him too!!
And now you know why I actually took almost two weeks leave from work, just to go back and forth to the school for the first seven days, to check on my son!

Treat for the week!
Yeayyy!
We made it!
A whole week in Standard One!
I am so proud of myself, and yeah Amin too, of course!
Bwahahahaha!
As for Arif, the best part of the day is when picking up bro at the school.
Because there's a huge playground across the road.
Very convenient while waiting for the school bell to ring.

Sporty Day 4
It's PE day today - physical exercise.
We haven't got any timetable yet but Amin said that teacher told them to wear sports attire today.
But at the end of the day, there weren't any sporting activity done anyways. I guess the teacher just want the student to get use to this PE clothes.
I mentioned yesterday that it was the last day allowed for parents to camp in school with the kids.
Hence, you can imagine the parents crowding at the gate just to catch a glimpse of their babies.
Yes.. Yes.. I'm included too but dismissed myself after five minutes.. Or was it twenty? :p

A Sad Day 3
.. because today will be the last day that parents are allowed to camp inside the school !Huwaaaaaa...
Mybaby boy is gonna be all alone from tomorrow onwards!
Especially when during today's recess time, I actually saved 2 boys from crying.
Coincidentally both sat around the same canteen table with Amin.
The first one, opened his lunch tupperware too hard, causing the nuggets to burst out flying and dropped on the floor.
We helped him up by buying for him a stick of 3-nuggets sold from the canteen.
The second boy, bought a wrapped nasi lemak from the canteen and opened it upside down, causing the rice to drop all over himself.
He already wiped his eyes with gleaming tears but I managed to stop the sobbing by offering to buy him a stick of nuggets instead, as I saw him then eyeing the boy next to him.
Mommy's getting worried..
Seriously, I wish there'll be teachers standby at the canteen to help out these newbies during recess.
Who knows whats gonna happen to my boy tomorrow!!
Arrgghhh!!
I know.. I know..
I must have faith, and let Allah handles the rest.
But this motherly instinct in me just cannot calm down.
Hmm.. maybe I need to set a CCTV at the canteen, just for my viewing?
Or, maybe I should go shopping?
As I am still on leave this whole week.
I am gonna be restless tomorrow..
HELP !!!

Sucker for Mieng Kam
Who?
Nope, it's not a person, but it's a food.
Well, although, I am a person that loves it.
It is a thai-snack to be exact which we'll take it as an appetizer.
Consists of cha plu leaves (daun kadok), dried shrimp, lemon, onions, ginger, chilli, roasted peanuts, coconuts, and the uttermost secret ingredient is the delicious-sweet-sour paste!
How to eat it?
Simple, just put a little bit of everything onto the leaves, fold the leaves, put the leaves into mouth and munch.
I could eat this whole day, seriously!
It's like a mixture of all flavours at once.
And the place that introduced me to this, is none other than, Basil.
Located inside Bangsar Village, very convenient for us to visit often.
Just for the record, this was our 24th November 2010 luncheon.
It is a Thai cuisine, serving spicy Tom Yam and all, but I'm rating the Tom Yam here as so-so, coz for me, Phai Lin is the best.
That reminds me, I should make a review of it.. hmm..

Perfectly Beautiful Day 2
Oh thank you Allah for the bright sunny afternoon, making it breezy for us to send Amin off to Day 2!
And he already happily playing with his friends!
Awwwww...
Mommy sooo proud of you!
And update for Day 2 is that Amin went to weewee all alone by himself, unlike Day 1 with daddy during recess time.
So far so good, aye?
Can't wait for Day 3, up next!

Only the Fish that matters
This whole week, I'm dedicating my afternoon post for my officemates as I owed them tons and tons of luncheon pictures. Sorry gurls for the delay but, heck, better late than never, aye?
Date : 10th October 2010 (try to ignore this will ya.. hehe)
Location : Tangling Food Court, near the KL Bird Park - Bukit Aman Police HQ.
Famously known as Tangling Ikan Bakar, this is the ultimate place to go if you're seeking for the best grilled fish in town.
It's an open space food court sitting - well, logically it has to be opened space due to the grilling smokes.
Do take note that it's rather hot eating here - terms applied to both the location and the sambals for the fish/ seafood.
Also only come here if you are willing to end up smelling like smoke afterwards, coz like it or not, the smell sticks to you like glue.
And when 10 gorgeous-properly-dressed-to-work-ladies actually came here to lunch, taking the risk of getting our faces oily and our clothes stuck with smokes-smell, you darn well should believe that it was worth it !
The rest of the pictures are kinda messy - again, terms applied to both the feast we're having and ourselves.. LOL.
So, I'm gonna just collage them pics, to make it look good, ok.. hehe..
Hmm.. editing all this pictures sure makes me longing for that grilled stingray with sambal asam..
So, ladies, when is our next trip?

Yeayyy!! We survived DAY 1
Krinnggg!!
It's the tea-break bell..
And I'm the happiest mommy on earth!
It was indeed a very challenging day for us as we had to walk through the pouring afternoon rain.
But still nothing can stop me from snapping pics.. Hehe
Came to a halt at the crowded hall, filled with newbies.. And their eager parents!
My smart boy, once again, braved himself to sit upfront!
I packed him some nuggets, and ketchup at the side.
And afterwards, they're off to the hall for Monday assembly.
School ends at 6.30pm on Monday.
Looking forward for Day 2.
Wish us luck for tomorrow!
