Rugby World Cup 2011

Final match France vs New Zealand is on air now.
Hubby supporting France, is out watching it with Juju and Fahmi.
Oh goshhh..
It's stressing me out watching this.

I bet the boys are feeling far worse.
Both teams are strong, but I can see that the All Blacks are monopolizing the game at the moment.

Happy Hubby

Still and also about sports;
My die-hard-Arsenal-fan hubby went to the Arsenal's team training session this evening.

And came home smiling ear to ear as he got this thrown by Vito Mannone to the spectators.

In conjunction with the Arsenal Asia Tour 2011, the Malaysia team will play vs Arsenal tomorrow night, at Bukit Jalil Stadium.
Yes, hubby is going with his guy-office-mates
Yes, I'll be at home attending the kids.
Yes, you owe me, big time, hunny!!

Our Sporty Weekend

It was Amin's Sport's Day last Sunday, 3rd May 2011.
He's in the BLUE house.
As usual, there's the Red, Yellow and Green house too.
The whole school's getting ready to begin the event.
It was 8.00am.
Started with the official marching into the field, each classroom, one by one.
Followed up by chilling up inside the tent because it ended up drizzling.
Here's Amin with his classmates.
After an hour waiting, finally the sun came shining down on us.
Amin joined the kids relay sukaneka games.
Where he had to move around the obstacle cone by rolling this ginormous ball around it.
Then, had to picked the ball up to jump over the mini-fence.
And rolling it back the other way for the next team member's turn.
Look how huge the ball was.
Look how cute the fences were! hahaha
Amin did great!
But it was a team effort and it's all about spirit of participation.
  We got 3rd !
BRONZE!
But Amin was not that happy, because his best friend Rayyan in Red team got Silver.
Amin wanted to get Gold medal.
I had to keep reminding him, this was team effort and although he ran the fastest, it all depends on the whole team.  Hence, I told him, next time, we enter the solo run, ok!
But for now, Congrats on your FIRST EVER SPORTS MEDAL, Amin !!

LVing la vida FIFA

Please stop reading if you are already so annoyed on hearing about the World Cup, because I'm still gonna continue blogging about it.
Only this time, it's not about the matches..
..not about the handsome players..
..not about paul the octopus either..
But, it's about Louis Vuitton.
Read on if you're wondering on how exactly is it associating with the World Cup.

Commissioned by FIFA, the special order case, handmade by a single master craftsman in Louis Vuitton’s historic Asnières workshop, near Paris, has been meticulously designed to accommodate the celebrated FIFA World Cup Trophy.
Yes, the Trophy's has its own travel case!
How awesome is that?
Covered in Louis Vuitton’s iconic Monogram canvas, the travel case is fitted with the company’s signature brass lock and corners, and has a dark brown lining that complements the Trophy’s rich gold.
Like all Louis Vuitton special orders, this Trophy case was made at the company’s original workshop in Asnières, which opened in 1859.
The case opens at the front and at the top to allow the Trophy to be removed easily when, at the final on 11th July in Johannesburg, as watched by many millions of people across the globe.
Spain is not the only winner of the 2010 World Cup.
Louis Vuitton has officially made it into sports history with this product placement.
The FIFA trophy was presented on the Soccer City Stadium with the LV monogram case, by Fabio Cannavaro, captain of the former 2006 World Cup Champion, Italy, as he kissed the Trophy goodbye, before it was handed over to Iker Casillas, captain of the victorious Spanish team.
As hot as the LV casing might be, I have to say Fabio is indeed hotter!

And the winner is...

History is created in the soccer city, South Africa today..

The crown for FIFA 2010 goes to..

VIVA ESPANA !!

Thanks to ANDRES INIESTA for his fabulous shot at the 116th minutes into the extra time!

Making the final score Spain 1- Netherlands 0.
Making SPAIN celebrates its first World Cup!
Making the Champions of Europe, is now the Champions of the World!
This makes Spain the second nation in history (after Germany) to hold both the European Cup (2008) and World Cup in the same season!
What a spectacular heart wrenching end to an outstanding World Cup final.

See you in another 4 years, in Brasil !!

(pics googled from the net)

Ahhhh.. the suspense is killing me!!

We're in the 85th minutes and the score is still 0-0.
But oh my god I've never seen the ball moves super quick!
Come on Spain !!
Just one.. just one..

Dear Paul..

If you're asking who's Paul, then, you must be living outside the earth's atmosphere.
Because Paul is making the news headlines.
Definitely more famous than any of today's artist, athlete and politician.
Still wondering who?
Well, it's Paul the Oracle-Octopus of course!
This Octopus, residing in the Sea Life Oberhausen tank located in western Germany has predicted the Spaniards to win the Fifa 2010 World Cup finals against Dutch.

Could it just be a coincidence?
This two year old octopus's prediction was right for the recent semi-final match between Germany and Spain.

And the quarter-final match too.

So, would you trust the sea creature, or the Singapore's Mani the Parakeet, which predicted otherwise?
Whatever it is, I'll be cheering for Iker Casillas!

Spaniards won, again..

Yes, Spain won the semi-final against Germany, 1-0.

This is indeed the week of the Spaniards alright.. could they win the Fifa 2010 World Cup?
Can't wait for Sunday!
Now, I'm off to zzzZZzzzz...

(pic taken from fifa.com)

Team Jacob or Edward? Team Oezil or Casillas?

Just came back from the cinema.
Was am still having a hard time picking between Jacob and Edward..
And now I'm wide awake watching the battle of the giants, Fifa 2010 semi-final between Germany and Spain.

This is super duper hard for me because I'm cheering for Mesut but at the same time I'm screaming for Iker to block all attempt for goal.. where's the logic in that?
We're in the 40th minutes and it is still 0-0.

A sad match

I didn't stay up to watch the quarter finals match between Uruguay and Ghana, but I watched the rerun of it the morning after.
I was not rooting for either one of them, but somehow, when it's over, I felt the pain of Ghana team.
They almost had the chance to win it during the extra time.
But I guess that's what luck is all about, and they were not that lucky enough to win.

Oohhhh the suspense !!

We're in the first half break of the quarter-finals..
..and Germany leading 1-0 against Argentina !

I was rooting for both teams during the qualifying rounds earlier..
..but now as both giants collided..
if I have to cheer for a team..
it is Germany.
Go Oezil !!

Someone to look forward for.. is..

Mesut Oezil
This 21-year old German midfielder has really made the headlines..
Well, not much about him on the news, but definitely caught my attention !
Seriously, I admit that I don't know the players names, especially those FIFA newbies, but as I sat there watching the match between Germany and England, I was very impressed to see how fast this guy ran on the field!  It's like nobody can outrun him!  He was seriously quick!
Although he didn't score any goal, I definitely vote him as the Man-of-the-Match, instead of Thomas Mueller.
It's unfair that the press didn't credit Oezil as much as he deserves, because it was obvious that he was the heart of the game..
..the one that handsomely dribbled the ball across the field..
..the one that left the English players chasing shadows..
..the one that skillfully passed the ball over for his teammates to score..

Ohhh.. he's definitely going to make the upcoming Quarter-final against Argentina, a match to remember !

Am absolutely looking forward for that !
