Title of a lifetime

Monday 30112015
It's been 11years.
I have been a mom for 11 years.
Gosh. I feel old. This guy here gave me the job post that changed my entire life.
"Mommy"
Which is made of so many responsibilities and emotions that has no boundaries and no annual leave or breaks! Heck, not even paid salary! It's the other way around, really! Surprisingly a lot of spending caused by this guy.
But for what it's worth, i wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. He is my star, my moon, my reason for living, for surviving, for moving forward, for improving. Drive me nuts but the same time keep me grounded.
Sorry for being so hard on you, sometimes. May u grow to be a khalifah and saviour to me and your ayah, and your siblings, here and thereafter.
Happy 11th birthday my dear. Mommy loves you with every inch of my isi, lemak, dan kulit. Hugs.

A message just for my kids

Muhammad Amin
Muhammad Arif
Nur Aishah

Mommy loves you all so very much.
Mommy am very proud of each and every one of you.
You are very special and unique in your own way.

No matter what you want to be when you grow up..
Or what you might have become in your life..
Remember that mommy always loves you non the less.
Promise mommy that no matter what you do,
no matter where you are,
no matter who you have become..
Never ever skip your prayers.
This is the one and only thing that mommy wants from you.
Never skip your prayers.
Five times a day.
That's all what matters.
Promise me.
Promise your mommy this.
For as long as you shall live.

Admitting the flaw

It breaks my heart.
But I have to accept the flaw.
My eldest son needs prescription glasses.
Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

We took him to the ophthalmologist and get a precise prescription for his first glasses.
Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

Made me wanna cry.
Looking at him all grown up.
"Wow! Mommy! I'm seeing HD!"
He's happy.
Thats all what matters.

Missoni under my nose

Natural talent.
Thats what this is.
Never in my life, I showed pics of Missoni prints.
Let alone owning one.

So when Arif came home showing his nursery workbook, I went all giddy with this Missoni Junior in the making.
He just loves colours!
There aren't a single page of his colouring workbook having less than 5 colours.

Why haven't I noticed this before?
Well, to be honest, last year, he wasn't all this creative.
Check out his avatar giraffe.

And overly-sun-tanned chicken.

I need to start paying more attention to my kids art work.
Who knows, they might be the next Picasso ?

Please email me if you're interested to purchase their artwork.
Starting price is a thousand dollar a piece.
You better get them now, coz it'll turn to a million dollars when they get famous and I can no longer help you then.

It's the exam week, again!

As usual, it will be like I am the one who will be taking the exams.
Figuratively speaking.
It's Amin's final year exam week, and who else would be freaking out like a mad woman, other than his own momma!

No more TV.
No more iPad.
No more playing ninjago.
No more playing with Arif, especially!
Mommy is putting you on strict revision timetable and closely be monitored by moi.
I know I'm not supposed to pressure my kid.
He's only 8 years old anyway.
But hey, you can't really shrug the mommy-wanting-child-to-be-prepared-for-exam feeling, you know..
It's just the natural way for a mommy to respond.
Gonna go all the way to help her children.
As much as she can.
That's what mommies do best!
Hmm.. now where's that calculator to help me count?

We do not need a bigger car

A new addition to the family member is coming soon, insyaAllah, in April 2012.
That's referring to my growing belly, of course.
So, do we need to upgrade to a bigger car?
Do we need more space?
For the baby car seat?
For mommy to seat at the back for easy breastfeeding and baby handling?
Hmm.. nahhh.. I don't think so.
We do not need a bigger car.
We just need a more spacious leg area!
Don't ask me.
I am also baffled as to why my boys love to sit, play and even fall asleep here!

First Sahur for this Ramadhan..

.. and he requested for fried mee (indome maggie to be exact) with sliced hotdogs and mix vege..
with favourite drink shake of fresh milk + Hershey's chocolate syrup + whipped cream.
Such an easy boy to please.
Hope he makes it through today.

I want hotdog with cheese in bread

Say whattt??
That's what Amin said to me as soon as he woke up.
One of the challenges for me is to come up with food that my kids will eat.
Both my sons are skinny and I strongly believe that relates to the daddy's genes because hubby was like a walking stick when he was little.

But I can't help worrying the fact that I haven't been feeding them much, you know?
So you can imagine how happy I was when Amin saved me from injuring my brain cells, by telling me what exactly that he wanted for breakfast.

As usual, I fried the hotdogs with olive oil after boiling them.
Call me paranoid but there were times when Amin actually vomitted the hotdog because it was not well cooked on the inside.
Since then, I will make sure to run it for a minute or five, on the pan for the assurance.

Pressed the bread onto the same pan and then rolled up the hotdog with the cheese.
Put on slow fire and let the cheese melt itself.

Quickly flip the bread into two and wallaaaa, there you have it!

Last but not least, another one of Amin's must have, the ketchup!
Yummmyyyy !

Whiteboard attack!

That's what happened when my kids got to the office.

They spend the whole half hour standing in front of the white board, and having fun with the black, red and blue markers.

Freely expressing whatever that came to mind.

Such fun being a kid, aye?

There should be a "Captain" in there somewhere

Jack Sparrow..
Captain Jack Sparrow to be exact !
I can't comment on this movie.

I'm deeply in love with Depp.
So, I will be totally buyers.
Despite the fact that Arif ended up playing at the aisle.
Despite the fact that my sister in law slept her way through the movie.
I will rate this as fabulous!
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, is the forth instalment of this Jerry Bruckheimer production.
Their first was in year 2003, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
Followed by Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest in 2006.
Quick trilogy sequel the following year with Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.
So you see, after 4 years of searching and waiting for Depp's movie, (sorry coz I'm not loving him in "The Tourist"), how do you expect me to not be smitten with Jack Sparrow?
Unlike all previous series, this forth franchise was not directed by Gore Verbinski.
Rob Marshall took this one up and sorry to say, but I do feel like some scenes are just not relevant and actually not even needed at all.
For instance, the Spanish intervention.
It's really not that crucial to say the least as the Fountain of Youth could also be destroyed by the men fighting anyways, same approach, aye?

And what better way to finish off the 2 and a half hours movie date, other than dive into the Fountain of Ice Cream?
Mango Sorbet for Amin.
Raspberry Sorbet for Arif.
Thank you Acik Hajar for the wonderful outing!
Let's do Kung Fu Panda 2, next Saturday, ok!

Bye bye toothy

This post is to mark a very memorable event.
I took Amin to the dentist this morning, to pull his loose front baby teeth.
He was such a braze boy.
I tried to distract him from the fact by bringing the iPad along, and talking about games etc while waiting for our turn.

When it's time for us to go inside the room, I told him the dentist will just have a look at it.
I didn't catch the dentist's name but she was not wearing any mask, has a beautiful smile and very chatty with everybody, making the kids and parents too, felt comfortable with her.
She started with the normal tooth inspection and praised Amin for taking care of his teeth.
She asked about school, friends, and stuffs.
And while talking, she dabbed with the soft cotton, the strawberry flavoured antiseptic or whatever the powder was, onto his front teeth, hold a dental pliers with another hand, and as fast as lighting, she pulled the teeth off!!
My heart stopped beating at the sight of her hand clasping the dental pliers.
Thank god Amin didn't see it because he was lying on the chair facing up, or else he might be running off!
Heck, I would do to!
But then, it was a relieved for me to see that she didn't have to yanked the teeth at all because it was already very loose.
She merely even made an effort to pull it out, either.
And Amin only let out a tiny shrieked the moment she gripped the teeth with the pliers, and walla!
Done!
Kudos to the public clinic for being so efficient and having very friendly dentist and staffs.

What big lollipop you have there?

The better to eat you with, my dear!
This is the very first time we bought such huge lollipop.
So, that's the reason for Arif extra-sweet poses.
We bought this at the airport, last 22nd January, while we went to pick mil and sil from their first vacation trip this year, which was to Saigon, Vietnam.
Truth be told, this lollipop is not actually as large as it seems.
It's just a casing.
And there are exactly 15 normal sized lollipops in there.
So, please refrain from buying this, the next time you see it.
This shall be a reminder especially to my dear hubby, because he was the one that got so excited seeing this lollipop at the candy store.
Oh well, at least, the kids had fun playing with it for a while.. LOL.

A Sporty Graduation

As I was about to save some files on my laptop, it suddenly prompted low disk space.
Then only I realised that I have tons of pictures in here, transferred from the camera since last year.
Knowing that it will take me a huge effort to look back at them after I transferred all into the external hard drive,  I figured I'm gonna make it my target this month to post all important events that I have failed to timely blog about, before I transferred the pictures out of this laptop.

So, here goes..

Event : Salsabiila Sports Carnival & Graduation Day
Date : 14th November 2010
Location : Singgahsana Hotel, Petaling Jaya.

Salsabiila holds this Graduation ceremony at the end of each year which rotates between Sports Day and Performance Day.
And this last year was the Sports Day.
As for Amin, this was an extra special event because he officially graduated from the nursery.

Yup, believe it when I say that Salsabiila not kidding when it comes to graduation ceremony.
Just like the real university, complete with scroll, robe, hat and pre photo shoot session !

The event started as early as 8.30am, with just like any other sports day, to begin with the marching by all sports-house.
There were 4-coloured-sports  house; blue (both Amin & Arif), red, green and yellow.
The marching theme for this year was "Free Palestine".

Here's the Blue team's banner..
.. with Amin and team-mates preparing to march..
Yellow and Red team standby to join..
.. whilst the Green team, awaits..
If I had known better, I would say that these children are fanatics and the concept is beyond their reasoning.
But let the truth be told that it's actually very fun to participate in such themed events and the kids really had fun dressing up to the cause.
After the marching, the fun continued with kids running around doing aerobics-dance--with-pompom-plus-marshal-art kinda choreographic.
Hmm.. very hard to interpret what was actually happening as I was busy laughing out loud seeing Amin doing this moves.
Then only the sporting activity begins.
Amin participated in several events, more like a mini decathlon.
My 2 year old Arif was not excluded too from the fun.
He participated in the lollipop event, whereby all 2 year olds lined up and run/ walk/ crawl/ however way they like, towards a plate filled with lollipop, took one, and stick it onto a sponge case.
Sounds simple, aye?
Well, for a 2 year old, it was not!
With kids screaming, crying, clinging to mommies, it was the most difficult game to conduct !!
But I am so proud for Arif who although looked at lost, he managed to walk towards the plate, hold onto a lolly drop it onto the case.
And the reward was that he got to eat it afterwards. Yeay!
We then reached the next agenda, which was the Graduation ceremony.
All 6 years old were called to the backstage to put on the robe and hat.
Lined up in a row, ready to take the scroll from the principal of Salsabiila and the honoured guest was Ustaz Ahmad Tarmizi, the winner for the Season 4 Akademi Al-Quran.

I'm totally a sucker for this moment.
It's hard for me to be happy and at the same time realised that my boy is now stepping into the real school environment.
He is growing up so fast and I am thankful to Allah for all the motherhood experiences and moments that I have gone through.
Absolutely priceless.
